According to a probable cause affidavit, Robertson approached Officer Pete Ghrist around 8:11 a.m. Wednesday. Robertson told him he brought something to school by mistake, Ghrist said according to the affidavit.
He asked Ghrist — a longtime school police officer at Griffith — if he could “cut (him) a break” to let him put it back in his car, according to police.
When Ghrist walked Robertson to the south end of the hallway, the student admitted having a handgun in a front right pocket containing six unspent rounds. He showed Ghrist a valid carrying permit.
