A woman has been charged after police say she threw her 1-year-old child in anger after a neighbor would not give her a beer.
Officers responded around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday to the 2000 block of Morningside Drive in regards to an assault on a child, according to a police news release. Police said 29-year-old Kyesha Sherell Willis, of 2016 Morningside Drive, Apt. E had gone next door and demanded a beer from her neighbor. When she was denied the beer, police said she threw her 1-year-old son to the ground.
Willis was charged with assault on a child under the age 12, simple assault and resist delay and obstruct. Her bail was set at $5,000.
Alamance County Department of Social Services was contacted and advised of the situation. The child did not suffer any lasting injuries anf was placed in the custody of his grandmother.
